Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about dry times, pet odors, pricing, and what to expect when we visit. Don't see your question? Get in touch — we're happy to talk it through.

Is "steam cleaning" the same as hot water extraction?

For everyday purposes, yes — steam cleaning is the common name for hot water extraction. Our truck-mounted rig heats softened water to 230°F, injects it deep into the carpet under controlled pressure along with a cleaning solution, then immediately vacuums it back out — taking the loosened soil, dust mites, and allergens with it. It's the deep-cleaning method the carpet industry's standard (IICRC S100) is built around, and the one most carpet mills specify for their warranties.

How long will my carpets take to dry?

Plan on 6–12 hours to dry completely. With good airflow — ceiling fans on, HVAC running — many rooms are dry to the touch in 2–6. We finish every job with extra dry strokes to pull out as much moisture as possible, and you can walk on the carpet in clean socks right away.

Are your cleaning products safe for kids and pets?

Yes. We use professional solutions that are safe for children and pets once the carpet is dry, and we always rinse thoroughly so there's no sticky residue left to attract new dirt.

Can you really get pet odors out?

In almost all cases, yes. Pet urine leaves behind uric-acid crystals that bond to the fibers — ordinary cleaners take out the visible stain but leave the crystals, which is why the smell comes back on humid days. Our enzyme treatments actually digest those crystals at the source. Deep, long-soaked spots can need a second application — if that's the case, we'll tell you honestly before we start. See a real example on our case studies page.

How often should carpets be professionally cleaned?

Every 12–18 months for most homes, and every 6–12 months for homes with pets, kids, or allergy concerns. Worth knowing: most carpet manufacturers require periodic hot water extraction cleaning — the method we use — to keep their texture and appearance warranties valid.

Do I need to move furniture before you arrive?

Please move small and fragile items — lamps, electronics, breakables. We can carefully work around or move most standard furniture like sofas and chairs. Very heavy pieces (beds, entertainment centers, china cabinets) typically stay in place.

How much does carpet cleaning cost?

It depends on the number of rooms and the condition of the carpet, so we quote each job individually — for free, with no obligation. Call (859) 621-7847 and we'll give you a clear, upfront price. The price we quote is the price you pay — no upselling at the door.

Do you handle floods and water extraction?

Yes — we do a lot of it. Burst pipes, washing machine overflows, storm water: our truck-mounted equipment pulls standing water out of carpet and pad fast. The sooner the water comes out, the better the odds your carpet dries out instead of getting torn out — so if you have water down, call (859) 621-7847 right away.

Do you rent drying equipment?

Yes — we rent industrial dehumidifiers and high-velocity air movers (blowers) for water-damage restoration and other big drying jobs. Call (859) 621-7847 for availability and daily rates.

Do you clean car and truck interiors?

Yes — automotive interiors are one of our specialties. We deep clean seats, carpets, floor mats, and upholstery in cars, trucks, and SUVs to remove spills, stains, and odors.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Lexington, Kentucky and serve the surrounding Central Kentucky area, including Nicholasville, Georgetown, Versailles, Winchester, Richmond, and Frankfort. See the service area map — and if you're nearby but not listed, give us a call.
