The short version

We collect your name and your review only if you choose to type them into the review form on our home page. This website sets no tracking cookies, runs no advertising, and has no analytics watching what you read. We do not sell, rent, or trade anyone's information, ever. If you want something removed, call us and it's gone.

Who we are

Magic Carpet Cleaning, LLC is a family-owned carpet and upholstery cleaning business operating in Lexington and Central Kentucky. We run this website ourselves. You can reach us at (859) 621-7847 or magiccarpetky@gmail.com about anything on this page.

What we actually collect

There is one place on this site where you can hand us information: the review form on the home page. If you fill it in, we receive:

• the name you type (a first name is fine — it's your call how much to give us)
• your star rating
• what we cleaned for you, if you fill that optional field in
• the review itself

That's the whole list. The form does not ask for your address, your phone number, or your email, and we'd rather you didn't put them in the review box either.

We use what you send for one purpose: reading it, and — once we've checked it's genuine — publishing it on this site. We leave out anything abusive, anything about someone else, anything that looks planted, and anything that isn't from a customer. We do not leave a review out for being critical. If you'd rather your review not appear publicly, say so in the review and we'll respect it.

When you call or email us instead

Most people book us by phone. When you call, text, or email, we end up with whatever you tell us: your name, your number, your address so we can find the house, and notes about the job. We use that to do the work and to find your history if you call us again years later. It stays with us. It does not go anywhere else.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own — not for tracking, not for advertising, not for analytics. We are not counting you.

There is one exception, and you control it. The service-area map at the bottom of the home page comes from Google Maps, and Google sets its own cookies when it loads. So we don't load it unless you press the button that says Show the map. If you never press it, Google never hears from your browser. If you do press it, Google's own privacy terms apply to that map.

The fonts on this site are served from our own domain rather than from Google's font service, so simply reading these pages sends nothing to Google.

Who else touches your data

Two companies are involved in running this site, and it's fair that you know:

• Netlify hosts the website and handles the review form. Like every web host, their servers keep standard access logs (IP address, browser type, which page was requested) for security and for keeping the site up. Reviews you submit pass through Netlify and are emailed to us.
• Google receives a request from your browser only if you press the button to load the map, as described above.

Nobody else. No ad networks, no data brokers, no tracking pixels, no social media buttons that phone home.

How long we keep things

Reviews stay as long as they're on the site or in our email. Job records we keep for as long as it's useful to have served you before — a customer calling back after six years is normal in this trade, and it helps to know what we did last time. Host logs age out on Netlify's own schedule.

Your say in it

You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call (859) 621-7847 or email magiccarpetky@gmail.com and a Hayes will handle it — usually the same day. We won't make you fill in a form or prove anything elaborate. If you're in a state or country with specific privacy rights, those rights apply and we'll honour them.

Children

This site isn't aimed at children and we don't knowingly collect anything from them. If a child has sent us something through the review form, tell us and we'll delete it.

If this page changes

If we ever add something that collects data — analytics, a booking system, anything — we'll update this page and change the date at the top before it goes live, not after.
